“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end.” – Robin Sharma
As you may or may not know, a couple of weeks ago we moved from Virginia to North Carolina. We moved on a Saturday, and on Monday I had a job interview. At the end of the interview I was offered the job.
What does that have to do with the podcast? Let’s just rip that band-aid off, they always say that is less painful. With the move, trying to get settled, unpacking, starting a new job, and trying to get familiar with the area and our new life, I do not feel that I currently have the time I will need in order to bring you the best podcast that I can.
I enjoy recording the podcast and I enjoy talking to the authors, but right now I just need some time to adjust to our new life and our new schedule. But that doesn’t mean that The Leighgendarium is going away.
Since the move, I have thought about The Leighgendarium and the direction I want to take it in. I have several ideas running through my head and one idea that I am going to implement right away.
Instead of a podcast, I am going to bring back 10 Questions With, the written interview. 10 Questions With is what The Leighgendarium was known for doing before I started the podcast. There is one thing with the written interview that I find a little humorous, at least I find it funny. There is not going to be 10 questions, I am leaning towards 13 or 14 questions. Why do I find that funny? I called the podcast 30-Minute Author Interviews but had the hardest time keeping it at 30 minutes. Each episode seemed to be about 45 minutes. So that is why I am going to ask 13 or 14 questions. 🙂
Does this mean the podcast is over? I don’t know. I know that probably isn’t what you want to hear, at least that is what I hope, but for the moment I do not know if 30-Minute Author Interviews will be back. There is a sea of author interview podcasts and it is hard to stand out in that sea. Trying to navigate that sea and stand out at the same time can be very tiring and exhausting, but very rewarding. One thing that successful podcasters say is that your podcast needs to be rewarding for the listener. Your podcast needs to give the listener something with each episode. I hope in the future, no matter what kind of podcast I decide to do, that the podcast I release will be rewarding for you.
With that said, I am thankful for all of the authors that came on the podcast. Thank you to everyone who has supported the podcast over the past year. Thank you to those who shared the podcast and help spread the word about it. Thank you to those who introduced me to new authors. Thank you to my Patreon supporters for believing in the podcast and supporting me. I hope that 30-Minute Author Interviews will be back, but if it isn’t, I hope there is another podcast that I can do.
I hope that you will continue to support The Leighgendarium through this time of change. I do hope that all of the changes turn out to be “gorgeous at the end.”
